Finally...some visuals. This entry was posted on 3/18/2007 1:51 AM and is filed under South Korea. I know the blog has been a bit lackluster with the lack of pictures. Unfortunately, I'm still weeks away from having an internet connection at home. But, I went out and bought a CD-RW to get some pics us and remedy the problem.
So, here goes.... First the apartment: Here's the before picture of the main living space. Pretty bare. The blue blanket was a hand-me-down from the guy who lived there before me. He gave it to me saying, "I'm not sure you want it (questionable, distasteful face), but jere you go. It was, to be brief, icky. ![]() The apartment now: A nice new bedspread (thank god!), some blinds and my little red plant have gone a long way to making the place feel inhabited. The TV is still on the floor, but I'm waiting until my first paycheck to buy furniture. A chair might be nice too...a desk maybe? ![]() The kitchen: I'll spare you a before shot, because I haven't done much to it. I did add the red stars...a very Liz-type decorating style...they're stickers! Plus, now I've got all my spices (thanks to a box in the mail from mom...thanks mom!) so the place feels like MY kitchen now. There's not much storage...the two "cabinets" on the right house mechanicals for the electic stove...?!? Plus those top cabinets are so high I can't put anything in them past the first few inches. Otherwise I need something to stand on to reach it. Still...I love that red wall! ![]() Okay...the bathroom. It's not of much interest...drab, drab, drab. I added some little flower decal thingies...but it hasn't helped much. I think I need brighter lightbulbs in there. Note that the whole room is the shower. The nozzle is in the corner...but only about 10 inches from the sink. The guy who lived here before me installed a shower curtain thing, but when I wash my hair, the whole room still manages to get wet. ![]() Finally, my building: KyongDong Wintz Tower. It's, admitedly, not the best shot but atleast it gives you an idea of where I live. I'm on the 18th floor but unfortunately face another building. Still, I get plenty of light and miss out on most of the street noise. ![]() Okay...more pictures to follow. Next entry...school. |
