How’s this for gorgeous…


My sail through the Whitsunday Islands was just one gorgeous thing after the next. From Whitehaven Beach (above) to perfect sunsets.

So, from time to time the crowd on the boat looked like this, which made me giggle.

I sailed on an 82ft yacht

And we made stops here and there along the way…such as Whitehaven Beach which is so popular that people fly there to take a peek.

Which is where I spotted this creepy crawler, a sea cucumber. Apparently I was the only one who hadn’t seen one before.

A cuter creature we saw along the way…turtle! This giant guy was just hanging out by our boat, popping his head up inquisitively.

We stopped too at a lookout where I got this shot…another ‘proof I was there’ sorta thing.

Later that night we had a killer full moon.

It brought out the craziness on the boat…with the worst drinking game in history. Our captain Jimmy and crew Sas sat by…

…but the passengers were ready to party…

The game involved tossing back rather full cups of alcohol…

…which were a mixture of everything we had on board. (Scary! We had 7 different kinds of alcoholic liquids on the boat! Ewww!)
The game involved rolling a die and turning over cups and drinking whatever you are handed. It was chaos. But here’s Alistair and Simone to illustrate good manners of the game.
Okay, bring it on…

…then you toast…

…then it’s time to drink up.

Things got more complicated later on…and there was a rule introduced about a lifejacket…which was really just for laughter purposes.

But in the end, everyone had fun…as you can tell…

We spent a great couple days sailing around the islands.

and I would say it’s a definite must if you ever find yourself in Australia!
